PART FOUR

When Dawn awoke in the morning to the hustle and bustle of the camp around them, she was somewhat surprised to find that she was still laying on top of Conah. She was even more surprised to find that her friend was still asleep, and after a moment smiled slightly. She was glad she was getting some rest. She shifted to get comfortable, lightly resting her head on her friend's chest as she studied her face with half-lidded eyes.

... She had always been so pretty. She wondered why she had never really noticed before.

Maybe it was because they were fighting.

The vision she had came to mind, and her face flushed as her eyes darted away. She... Was going to kiss Conah. Her eyes locked onto her lips, and for a second she imagined what it would be like. Her face soon went redder, and she looked away as she tried to shoo away the image. No. No. Bad timing. Always bad timing.

Conah's eyes opened slowly, with her breathing quickening as her body decided it was time for her to wake. As soon as she was fully coherent, her eyes widened, and she lightly lifted Dawn off of her.

"I... I slept late." She stammered, looking around herself in wonder. "I never sleep late. I need to go and handle the camp, I need to go and help everyone, I'm the leader, I can't sleep this late-"

The poor girl was stuttering as she paced back and forth, obviously shaken.

She needed help.

"... Oh my god, you idiot. C'mere." Dawn yawned, sitting up and tugging Conah back down. She wrapped her arms around her, pinning her down as she looked over at her with a smirk. "I am prescribing rest. Doctor's orders." She rolled on top of her, strategically laying across her so she was pinned down. There was a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, and she tilted her head to the side with a knowing smirk.

But.. She was being serious. Conah really did need the rest.

"Come on, you've been working yourself way too hard." Her voice softened, and she looked up at Conah and raised an eyebrow. "The camp will be fine. They're adults, and Strife can help lead things around. If they really need you, they'll come and get you. But I'm sure they want you to rest as much as I do." Her grip on her loosened into something a little more comfortable. "Relax, Conah. Even you need a break."

"Conah! We kinda need you out here!"

No rest for the wicked, I suppose.

Strife threw open the tent flap, stepped back a bit when he saw what was going on, but quickly recovered. "Alright, so we've got a bit of an issue. Who would've guessed that two people would find our camp a day after each other, right? Well yeah, that's kinda what we're dealing with, except it's different. This guy just appeared in the middle of camp."

Conah raised a brow very, very slowly, before letting out a choked, "What?"

"I'm on it." He was obviously magical, and she didn't want anyone getting near him before she did.
